Billie Eilish explains new single 'wish you were gay'

Billie's new album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? is almost here, set for release on March 29, 2019. Earlier today Billie premiered a new single off the album titled wish you were gay. on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe as part today's world record.

The song is actually about a real experience that happened to the singer. Last year she actually spoke about the song on her Instagram story. She proceeded to tell fans: “I wrote this song about a guy that really was not interested in me and it made me feel horrible, so the song is called ‘wish you were gay”. To anyone wondering, this song is not meant to be offensive in any way. Given Billie's track record with her LGBTQ+ fans. Just weeks ago, the guy Billie referenced in the video did in fact come out as gay.

And guess what? He just came out to me like a couple weeks ago. So I wrote the song and made him fuck a dude. I’m fucking proud, bro! Except not really though because I was really into him, like so into him, he’s so hot oh my God, he’s so attractive.
